The Most Popular Events Happening In Vancouver In June
In June, Vancouver has a mild summer temperature which makes it an amazing outdoor event city without worrying about extreme heat temperatures. There are plenty of community events and outdoor activities, and the biggest challenge will be deciding on which event to go to!
Below are a few of the most popular events in June:
Afro World Expo June 1- June 2 – Vancouver Convention Centre
This popular event features over 50 vendors showcasing their products, a fashion show featuring local designers, live performances, and a huge selection of African and Caribbean food.
Brewery & the Beast June 2 – Concord Pacific Place
Join a line up of exceptional beverage makers who offer a wide range of regional craft beers, ciders, and cocktails. Accompanying them will be local top chefs who will cook up some tasty culinary delights. There will also be live music featuring local artists.
Italian Day June 9 – Commercial Drive
Commercial Drive comes alive mimicking Italy’s vibrant streets and piazzas. It is a day celebrating Italian culture, heritage and community with live music, amazing food, dancing in the streets and family fun activities.
Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival June 11- September 21 – Vanier Park
Celebrating its 35th season, this venue features comedy, music, romance, and drama showcasing a repertoire of Shakespeare’s plays such as the Twelfth Night, Hamlet, Macbeth and more.
BC Lions Concert Kickoff Home Opening game June 15 – BC Place
50 Cent is the main act performing prior to the home opening game against the Calgary Stampeders. The backyard party starts at 10.30am outside the area at the Terry Fox Plaza.
Concord Pacific Dragon Boat Festival June 21-23 – False Creek
A main feature are the international dragon boat races and a stage featuring a line-up of a of local performers. There is a marketplace, food vendors, and the city’s biggest public patio at Creekside Park.
Vancouver International Jazz Festival June 21-30 – Various venues
Featuring a large collection of renowned local, national, and international jazz artists in free and ticketed shows across a number of venues in Vancouver, with the main base being Granville Island.
Greek Day June 23 – West Broadway
Enjoy a fun filled day with authentic Greek food, traditional dance performances and lots of interactive activities for the whole family. There is a marketplace selling unique Greek products, gifts, and souvenirs.
Foodstock June 23 – Swangard Stadium
This is a one-day fund raiser festival organized by the Greater Vancouver Food Bank (GVFB). There is a stage featuring live bands such as Yukon Blonde and The Matinee. Local brewing companies and food trucks will be offering delectable delights. Lots of fun and games especially for adults!
